Racehorses out of training come to Newlands Stables for a combination of Rest and Recuperation. Horses from many of the local racing yards, both large and small, find a 'home from home' at Newlands in a relaxed atmosphere away from the stresses of the busy routines they are used to, but within a very similar environment.
The Aqua Treadmill offers the benefits of hydrotherapy for horses in a natural exercise programme without a rider at controlled speeds and gradually introduces water in order for the horse to recover faster from certain muscle/joint injuries over a series of sessions.
Well known for his skill and patience in breaking young horses, Jamie and his team are ready, willing and able to offer breaking and pre-training of both flat and national hunt horses. Get in touch with Jamie to discuss availability and rates.
Jamie recently moved his pre training operation, Magee Equine, to its new base which is exceptionally well located for the Jockey Club Estates’ gallops at Mandown. The yard has been home to Kim Brassey, Brian Meehan and most recently Brendan Powell.
Moving to the 90 box yard will give former National Hunt Jockey, Magee, a vast selection of gallops for the horses within his care. Jamie will be offering recuperation, breaking in and pre-training services from Newlands to the many trainers in the Lambourn Valley and surrounding area.
In addition he is brimming with excitement about the ongoing refurbishment of the property and the installation of the first salt water horse tread mills in Lambourn.
MaGee says “my new base at the heart of Upper Lambourn, will not only give me the variety of facilities needed but also see that I am extremely well placed for my existing and new clients in the area”
